Steff da Campo | EDM Nations Interview !

By Alex Cristian – December 17, 2020 4 0

They’re great guys! Who are the legends on your bucket list to collaborate with? Also, tour life is exciting in general, travelling and meeting friends on the road. Hey Steff – thank you for taking your time for this interview! That kept me going! How was your experience collaborating with 71 Digits? Everybody switched from airplane seats to studio seats, so there is so much music being made right now, it’s crazy! I miss that as well. How have you kept inspired during 2020? In general I can get ideas for records from anywhere. What do you have in store release wise and are there any other exciting projects on the horizon?

18 December, I drop a collab with my buddy Tony Junior on Spinnin, it’s a remake of Belinda Carlisle’s “Live your life be Free”. In January, I drop a collab with Brieuc, called “Closer”. It was hard for everybody involved in our scene. Love both records, even though they are very different! When they and Spinnin mentioned they were thinking about a rework, I wanted to jump on! That is different every time. I don’t have a bucketlist really.  Finally, do you have a quick message to your fans? Anyway, once the idea is there, it’s a matter of locking yourself up in the studio and turning the idea into a production. I guess, usually I work from a melody or vocal idea and build around it. Follow us on socials Can you tell us the driving forces behind your revival of ‘Say Say Say’? I used to work with the Hi_Tack boys many years ago and we’re mates. I worked on a Steff Da Campo Remix and a more radio driven version with the 71 Digits crew. However, it was great having some more time to do studio work and for my family. What’s your usual process when making a record? Sometimes, I hear a sample that inspires me, sometimes I get a rough demo from a friend and we finish it together, sometimes it’s a melody that just pops into my head in the shower. It’s great to have a first chat with you. I hope 2021 will see us all back on the dancefloors all over the world! Have you spent a lot of time in the studio during lockdown?

Yes, but the challenge is not really making the music, but not being able to test it out in the clubs and finding release dates once they are done. I had two great years, but I know I have a long way to go, so I am grateful for any great talent that wants to work with me! The process was remote, due to Covid, so not as personal as it normally is 9and with less Gin Tonics), but with a lot of back and forth bouncing, I think we managed to get something great done! Appreciate what you still have, stay healthy and see you on the dancefloor in 2021! I miss performing and seeing how my music gives people a great time.

CRAIG CONNELLY PRESENTS – A SHARPER EDGE: REDUX!

By EDM Nations – December 11, 2020 2 0

The UK’s Kolonie travels to ‘California’, encompassing it a cooler, more progressive demeanor, while the lament-lined ‘Run Away’ is enhanced by the optimistic melodies & harmonies of Australia’s Highlandr. With a seasonal symmetry so perfect it might even have been planned, Craig Connelly brings a winter REDUX to his early summer-released ‘A Sharper Edge’. Even the instrumentals were written with the intention of being anchored in a strong human emotion or feeling.”With its REDUX, Craig has tied those core elements to the artistic natures of his remixers, with every track being broken down into stems and reconstructed from the ground up, resulting in one evolving body of music. Follow us on socials Drawing to a close the-year-that-was in the most uplifting of ways, through the twin prisms of the remix and his own studio/spinning work he brings new aspects & angles to his much-applauded second longplayer. While the album’s had a radical makeover, the core tenets it was built it on remain unchanged. With all these new weapons in hand, he has fashioned them into the fiercesome, firesome feature-length DJ mix, something which otherwise would’ve been denied fans in 2020. So before ‘A Sharper Edge’s day-one, I crunched what seemed important in my life and more and more four words kept popping back. Featuring rework-rich quarters, it includes new ‘Sharper Edge’ interpretations from Giuseppe Ottaviani, Sean Tyas, Kolonie, Highlandr, Daxson and Nikolauss. Within its grooves also lies much artistic camaraderie, with Factor B, Will Rees and Peter Steele all collab-ing, as well as producer/singer unions with Cammie Robinson, Sisken (Sue McLaren & Suzanne Chesterton), Natalie Major and Karina Ramage. Sean Tyas and Nikolauss’ remix destinies meanwhile lie in ‘Watch The Way You Move’ and ‘The Fire’ which – in distinctly #140-ish frames of mind – are both put on clubbier footings. So when I sat down to compose each track, I tried to bring one of the four – Destiny, Energy, Travel or Optimism to my foreground and subsequently channel it into that piece of music. Commenting at the time of its original release in May, the Manchester born-and-based DJ said: “I wanted to try a non-traditional approach to this album, and I thought a little pre-production mental exercise might give me some insight. Respectively, Giuseppe Ottaviani and Daxson energize ‘All For Love’ and ‘Anything Like You’, advancing them to primetime set positions. Originally the result of some introspective soul searching by Craig, it was composed down four specific thematic lines, all of which have been carried over into ‘REDUX’. Craig has also seized on REDUX’s opportunity to elaborate on his original album ideas, reframing them as promise-filled floor-aimed expansions. Whilst all the tracks represent a more radio or club focused sound, every one was designed to have its own story – regardless of whether it has lyrics or not.

Dutch wizkid Todd Helder makes his sophomore outing on NCS with sublime new bit-bass single ‘Never Stop’!

By EDM Nations – December 11, 2020 2 0
Debuting on STMPD RCRDS and performing at Tomorrowland within a breakneck six month window, the youngster was the name lighting up everyone’s lips, including STMPD boss Garrix and Marshmello, who Helder impressed with a remix of ‘Alone’ that the bucket-headed sensation played on heavy rotation on tour around the world. The track embraces an intense and captivating sound that instantly encourages you to hang in there!”

Follow us on socials Haltering, stuttering melodies and driving percussion push the single between a soundscape of roiling depth drops and twitching FX. Speaking about his latest work and how it reflects the current world on pause, Helder said:

“‘Never Stop’ is all about finding motivation to keep moving forward, even when times are tough. This time the rising star is on solo duty, dropping an instrumental production that slips easily between dreamy synth constructs and pillowy, netherworld bass lines. After his debut NCS release, the Guy Arthur collaboration ‘Closer’, won rave reviews from press and fans alike, the Netherlands-based prodigy stops by the YouTube empire for a second time to round off 2020. Helder is a name that by all rights should have had an explosive 2020, had this year of course gone to plan.

And that empowering message of support and unity threads through the entirety of the brand-new ‘A State Of Trance Year Mix 2020’ album. There are a few surprises coming in the next few weeks, so keep an eye on my social media channels.”

Follow us on socials The global pandemic helped realize how important it is to look out for one another, that standing together is the only way to make a difference. I really miss physically connecting with people around the world and I felt a bit lost without the magic of performing for a crowd and experiencing this music together. COVID-19 made me realize how lucky I am to be doing this. Looking back, one can only emphasize how strange of a year it’s been. Seamlessly mixed by Armin van Buuren himself for the seventeenth time in a row, this latest edition of the acclaimed A State Of Trance Year Mix series shows that inspiration can spark no matter the situation. Now more than ever, the A State Of Trance community is a beacon, a guiding light that can help people move forward knowing that there will always be someone or something to fall back on. Featuring more than a hundred breathtaking creations from leading creators such as Above & Beyond, Aly & Fila, Armin van Buuren, Cosmic Gate, Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery and Paul van Dyk in a gorgeous two-hour mix, this mix album fully represents the power of music and how it can be an outlet for those who need it, creators and listeners alike. Fortunately, I could continue broadcasting my A State Of Trance radio show from my studio in Amsterdam to connect with everyone online. I’m extremely thankful for that.”

About the year mix itself, he added: “I hope that this seventeenth edition of the year mix brings some much-needed light into this year and that it gives everyone something to look forward to as well. “For me personally, it was like a reset I didn’t know I really needed. The planned celebrations for the ASOT1000 had to be postponed, but we will be doing something special on January 21, the day on which we’ll broadcast the 1000th episode of A State Of Trance. “It’s been a tough year for everyone”, Armin van Buuren states.

Tungevaag x Jay Hardway share their ‘Kingdoms’ !

By Alex Cristian – December 11, 2020 7 0

It’s the exact tune we need right now to still end this year on a high note – out now on Spinnin’ Records. Both artists know how to drop a chorus, and it’s clear this track holds both their mark, with Tungevaag’s inviting rhythms and Hardway’s much acclaimed melodies – always strong and heart warming. The guys are happy to share their ‘Kingdoms’ with the audience. He’s played the biggest festival stages in the world, while releasing hit records as steady as the clock, including gems like ‘Exhale’, ‘Golden Pineapple’ and ‘Electric Elephants’. “Tungevaag and I met during a writing session at a Spinnin’ Records writing camp in 2019. Norwegian hit producer Tungevaag has successfully teamed up with one of Holland’s most renowned dance artists, Jay Hardway. It’s resulted in hundreds of millions streams, placing this Norwegian tastemaker into the higher echelons of global dance music. It’s been a long time since everyone joined together, but without any festivals and events taking place this year, the music should be a stronger remedy than ever. Super happy with how the track came out and really cool to work together with Martin (Tungevaag). After a bit of tweaking in my studio in Norway and in Jay’s studio we both were happy and we hope you enjoy the final product as much as we do!” – Tungevaag. You’ll feel the love for sure.“Jay and I met at the Spinnin Records writing camp for the first time and it was an instant click, together with our amazing co- writers the initial idea for Kingdoms was quickly born and we finished almost the whole track in the same day. Kicking off his career in 2012 with a collaboration with then-unknown teenager Martin Garrix, (‘Registration Code’), followed by another collab in the shape of 2013’s hit tune ‘Wizard’, this Dutch DJ/producer has since then continued a true triumphal march. Excited about this track and the upcoming club edit of the track as well!” – Jay Hardway. On the one side musical multiped Tungevaag, known as part of hit duo Tungevaag & Raaban, but more recently praised as producer of popular tracks like ‘Knockout’, ‘PLAY’ (together with Alan Walker and K-391) and ‘DANCE’ (alongside CLMD). It’s quite the collab taking place here. The result is nothing less than cheerful, as ‘Kingdoms’ brings the perfect blend of euphoric melodies, punchy beats and feelgood vocal lines. Follow us on socials 1000

And now, these two masterminds have teamed up to close a strange, surreal year with an uplifting soundtrack. ‘Kingdoms’ nicely builds its vibes on pulsating synths, giving the record a spacious and mesmerizing feel, before comforting vocals take things to a next level. A place Jay Hardway is well familiar with. The melody started on the piano and we decided it would be cool if the vocal could follow that melody line. As if they knew what needed to be done, Tungevaag and Jay Hardway have delivered the ultimate song. There was a really cool vibe in our session together with a group of songwriters and we had the layout for the track ‘Kingdoms’ quite fast.

Chico Rose says ‘Do It Like Me’ (feat. B-Case)!

And above all, to deliver the energy and good vibes Chico Rose and B-Case are all about.“Do it now. ‘Do It Like Me’ follows this triumphal path. Dutch DJ/producer Chico Rose has seen an incredible rise to fame these last years. Our goal was combining these emotions with current dance elements and energetic basslines.” – B-Case

Follow us on socials While the soulful vocals of B-Case and dreamy synth lines provide the tune with a cool 80’s vibe, the bassline nicely plays catch with the drum section, keeping things flowing and catchy – making this a real dance tune in its essence. Not bound to any particular genres, Chico Rose surprises his audience with a smooth piece of electro pop, using warm synth pads and delicate mid-tempo beats to set the mood into easy going. It’s a record to keep you warm this winter. Sometimes ‘later becomes never’.” – Chico Rose“The idea behind ‘Do It Like Me’ was to create a backflash into the 80’s, the listener should feel like taking part in an 80’s movie, driving down route 65 with a white ferrari testarossa and partying until the sunrise. Then 2020 came, a crazy year which at least resulted in more Afrojack collabs in the shape of popular tunes ‘Cloud 9’ and ‘Speechless’ (both released on Afrojack’s own Wall Recordings). In the meantime Chico Rose released more big records, including his second biggest hit to date: ‘Somebody’s Watching Me’ (a teamup with 71Digits). Often teaming up with mentor Afrojack, with whom he reached a climax last year when the guys released ‘Sad’, a hit record that by now counts over 60 million Spotify streams and over 5,8 million views on YouTube.

Daesmith talks about past, present and future | EDM NATIONS Interview

I have always been inspired by artists such as Danny Tenaglia, Lee Burridge, Danny Howells, John Digweed, Carl Craig and Steve Bug to name a few. Less virus, more gigs and experiences. The direction of electronic music has dramatically changed over the last 50 years. The track contains some motives from dub, house and progressive house, with a melancholic pad, touches of acid and some techy grooves. Thank you for the interview. Do you have a vision of music, an idea of what music could be beyond its current form? Music off and equipment on the floor. What is about music and/or sound that drew you to it? Daesmith is a Hungarian-born DJ and producer with international experience, selector and record collector. Generally, I think it depends more on your creativity and ideas than on your equipment. I would like to achieve more and better my productions. ‘Owning’ a remarkable signature sound and going against clichés has always been risky but I like to take this risk whilst not forgetting the main task of a performing DJ, entertainment. I have always felt honoured and privileged to have played with some of the ‘big names’ within the industry, but perhaps the most astonishing DJ set I have played was in a small countryside club. How the process of preparing for a live show like? It is not unusual that I practice by playing, 4-8 hour sets. This would be the ideal case. This will probably change in the future but currently I am happy with what I have and I still have a lot to discover. What does your approach look like – from selecting the material and preparing for, opening and then building a set? Being so new to music production, I do not have a real studio as such. Having said that, it is usually the crowd who determine if you are considered unique enough to be remembered. Could you describe your creative process on the basis of it? For me, every DJ set is memorable when I’m able to see smiling faces and arms in the air, but especially when sweat is dripping from the ceiling and you have that perfect intimate connection with the crowd. Grown up in the “rave”-era of the 90’s he had his first encounter with electronic music discovering early techno, house and trance productions from Danny Tenaglia, John Digweed, Sasha, Danny Howells and others. As a DJ it is always a challenge to fill and maintain a dance floor. When people dance with their eyes closed in a state of ecstasy, when the moment seems endless or when a hypnotic vibe is created. I could play pretty much any part of the night, anytime. Miraculously, we were able to bring the sound back within a few minutes and the party could continue. We had a chat with Daesmith bellow:

How would you describe your own development as an artist and the transition towards your own sound? Let’s say you have a gig coming up tonight. I regularly select, play, combine and try new tracks whilst staying at home due to the recent quarantine. What were some of the main compositional- and production challenges and goals when starting out as a DJ and how have they changed over time? I have a laptop, a quality sound card, a pair of studio monitors, an Ableton Push 2 and some cool plug-ins and VSTs. These simply have to be overcome in order to ensure personal development and the creation of your own sound. Learning, practicing, time and curiosity are all vital components.

What were your goals going into making Your latest release? How and for what reasons has your set-up evolved over the years and what are currently some of the most important pieces of gear for you? If I had a gig tonight with only a few hours to prepare then I would spend that time taking a shower, getting dressed, collecting my music and driving to the club. It has a key importance in revealing your true personality in music and I also think it is the hardest to achieve. I started to DJ around the age of 18, experimenting with more trance-leaning records rather than techno, which gradually transitioned into harder sounding and progressive house. What was your first studio like? More can be said by listening to some of my recent mixes than I can perhaps say about my current concept of great dance music. Throughout my career I have played various genres of electronic music, yet I have always tried to select music based on my own concept of ‘good music’, and it is here that the style of a DJ is revealed. This is the time for improvisation, needed for when you are in an unusual or difficult situation and with experience you become better at handling these situations. Finding my own sound has always been my (and I think other DJs’) prime aim. Electronic music is also following the rules and concepts of Western music but heavily relies on ever-evolving technology and creativity by its nature, thus opening up endless ways of self-expression. It depends how we define the basic concept of music. I am completely up-to-date with my tunes. This is a fantastic thing and I think this trend will continue to the point where even more creative people, who aren’t necessarily musically educated, will have easy access to achieve their ideas in the form of music. Positive impressions and impacts, beautiful music and happy dancers. As a music producer technical challenges occur on a daily basis. Follow us on socials In the past, I have encountered situations when the crown just wasn’t on the same frequency as I was. It is a never-ending process which is not independent from several environmental influences such as trends, technology and paradigms. What was the inspiration behind it? As I gained more experience, I moved towards the slightly deeper sounding tunes until I finally discovered my ‘real’ sound that I now prefer. ‘Rocky Gardens’ represents an experience from my earlier years. A girl was dancing in front of the DJ booth (which was not properly secured) and at that moment she wanted to express her feelings about the music, grabbed the edge of the table and tipped it over. When did you start DJing – and what or who were your early passions and influences? It’s when you are part of the moment. Tell us about one of your most memorable DJ sets. It is remarkable, in a way, that we have arrived in the 21st century with the basic concept of music still intact. I wanted to create something smooth but dynamic, melodic but not too dramatic. A track with some tropical, sunny influence. Until its introduction, music was strictly played by instruments in their classic sense of needing direct physical human interaction or voice. I will never forget the face of the girl when she realised what she did! Do you have any other goals you’d like to achieve in 2021? I firmly believe that electronic music will be, and is, an intangible part of music history and is one of the most creative forms of art. The whole booth collapsed.

GREG DOWNEY + BEATMAN & LUDMILLA: ‘THE ART OF SKULLDUGGERY VOL II’ !

It is though through psy-trance that they’ve found their higher calling, which subsequently brought them to Greg’s attention. In and amongst you’ll find new cuts from Gabor & Fruzsina themselves, including the disc’s overture ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ and the (no-explanations-needed!) ‘Welcome to Skullduggery’. Follow us on socials Stoneface & Terminal showcased in last spring’s inaugural, but for 2020’s it’s Beatman & Ludmilla who grab some second disc spotlight. On his mix, Greg weighs in with a mass of gear for your ear to cheer, immediately pushing the needle to lightspeed with his own ‘Infinity’. II’ call up. Last year’s ‘The Art Of Skullduggery’ saw the label plot its first mix-comp course, painting their vision over ‘Vol.1’s dual-disc canvas. At its heart was Chief Skull Greg Downey’s desire to share both his inimitable combustible trance sound and that of other talents who – on the scale – have been underexposed. Back in 2018 he persuaded the enigmatic duo to break with their Ayra Recordings release tradition and license ‘Dune’ to Skullduggery. Bang on cue the Skullduggery crew are back to provide us with precisely those types of thrills! II’! That precedes a wealth of new and upcoming Downey studio-ware:  ‘London Calling’, ‘Rendezvous’, ‘Elephant’ and his recent reworking of Michael Kaelios’s ’Who I Am’ amongst them. Gambits & chicanery, intrigue, ploys ‘n’ subterfuge – who doesn’t like a bit of the deep down ‘n’ dirty in their musical lives!!? Its exposure quickly widened interest & audience for the pair, which in turn opened the release floodgates and ultimately leads us to today and the release of the trio’s pretty darn killer collaboration ‘The Art Of Skullduggery Vol. A backbone of the country’s electronic music scene for well over a decade the Hungarian duo has evolved through its breaks and prog periods, regularly playing 25 in-country shows a year. Looking to make absolutely certain you’re getting something you’re not finding anywhere else, Beatman & Ludmilla draw on 100% exclusive material for their mix. Greg draws on plenty of desk-hot music from other quarters too, with the latest from likeminds including Will Atkinson, John Askew, Chris Schweizer, Ronski Speed and Everlight getting the ‘Vol.

Australian DnB duo V O E chase dreams with TRACKANDBUILD 2.0 winning single ‘GIANTS’!

By EDM Nations – December 8, 2020 2 0

With releases on Liquicity, Blackout Music and Global League, Aussie DnB duo V O E have been making serious waves across 2020. It was how I was feeling at the time but it slowly turned around and it’s like, I know what I’m doing, I know what I want to be, I’m climbing these vines to the giants – the artists that we idolise and the labels as well. That’s where the first lyric “Where am I going, I’m falling over dreams” came from. I went back to basics which for me is just a piano and just trying to sing, that’s my favourite way to come up with ideas, and that’s where ‘Giants’ came to life. Follow us on socials It takes something special for records stick out of the pack these days and that’s definitely what happened with V O E. V O E’s winning submission, which gained them mentorship from London-based game soundtrack specialists Koven, will be released on NCS as a stand alone single on December 4th and then as part of a wider EP featuring competition runners up on December 18th. The whole story of ‘Giants’ is based on the emotions I was feeling at the time,” he went on, “which was my drive for music and for us as artists trying to reach the top, reach out goals. Working towards NCS is absolutely huge.”

Track And Build 2.0 built on the huge success of 2019’s inaugural competition and drew in a slew of entries from music producers and game creators from all corners of the world. As the year draws to a yawning close, they add another name to that illustrious collection with ‘Giants’, their monstrous new release on YouTube goliath NCS. Discussing why V O E’s track in particular caught the ears and musical taste buds of Track And Build 2.0 judges, James Foster, one of the heads behind the project said: “We hear a lot of music especially within the remit of Track and Build, this year we had over 650 submissions – that’s a lot to get through. A rock-infused roller with a roaring double topline, jagged guitars, snarling synths and mammoth depth drops, ‘Giants’ not only caught the attention of the NCS A&R team but also bagged the pair top spot on the hotly contested Track And Build 2.0 competition in association with Jagermeister, Koven and LabelRadar. Production as a whole has gone up across the board in the past few years but even within the initial 20 second preview we get via Label Radar we knew that there was more to these guys”. Scheduled to feature on the soundtrack for upcoming game Wreck Out, the track was born out of the all-too-familiar curse of 3am writer’s block, as one half of the band Tom Calvett, explained: “I was feeling inspired when I started but all my ideas just weren’t working, I was feeling that frustration and writer’s block.

He worked with Jamaican talented vocalist and producer, Richie Loop to create this banger, spicing up the song with a special reggae vibe created by his catchy vocals. He is also known for his remix of Tiesto’s “Boom,” with millions of streams worldwide. He has previously collaborated with industry heavyweights such as KSHMR, Infected Mushroom & Ben Nicky and has been supported by the likes of Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, David Guetta, Tiësto and more. We had a great chat with Unknown Brain about their newest album | EDM Exclusive Interview !

By EDM Nations – December 1, 2020 2 0

Our favorite songs are Let You Go and Phenomenon. Let You Go was the first song we made that defined our new style, which we are really proud of. NCS is a label which feels really familial for us. How do you feel being the first official album to come from the NCS label? He focuses more on the mixdown and mastering of the tracks. How was the process of making the album for you? EDM Nations managed to locate them somewhere between Berlin and Cologne, hard at work. We just kept on doing what we love most – making music. One of us is more of the ‘creative’ guy, who works really fast to get the ideas out of his head and into the project. ‘Faceless’, which is also Unknown Brain’s debut artist album, is a 15 track sensation that celebrates the vocal within dance music and skips flawlessly across Future House, Future Bass, Trap and even into Pop, a genre that the duo have seemingly set their sights upon. What’s next for Unknown Brain? Phenomenon is a super hard hitting trap song that will simply blow everyone’s mind. Every song started differently. With live shows we could have strengthened that relationship and really helped the audience know what we feel and think while doing and playing our music live. So ‘Faceless’ is more of a statement than a ‘regular’ album. For the past four years, German artists Unknown Brain have been lighting up the YouTube world of NCS with their huge production work. Glad to be here, thanks for having us. Sometimes we created the instrumental first and sometimes we started with the vocals. With lockdown meaning the pair have been confined to their studios for the better part of 2020, it made it a little easier to track this elusive twosome down. It is a collection of tracks we produced over the past couple years with one topic, which is that ‘music doesn’t need a face’, it just needs to be about the music. Since then we got more and more into it and around a year ago we decided to fully focus on it as a whole album. That’s exactly this feeling that we want to give each listener at least once while listening to our tracks. But sometimes there are days when we both think in completely different directions and come up with something no one could even think of himself. We have a connection with the whole team which makes it easier to plan and work together on the releases. How different is it releasing music with NCS compared to other labels that use a more ‘regular’ label model? What do each of you bring to the studio that makes you work so well as a team? Sometimes music seems to be too much about the person who made it, too much hype and not enough substance; we want listeners to forget about ‘us’ and lose themselves in our sounds. Quickly becoming one of the biggest acts on the sprawling musical empire, it was only natural that they delivered the label’s first ever full length long player. The other guy is more of the ‘technical’ guy who always tries to improve the sound and lift the overall quality of Unknown Brains productions. The album is a stunning cross section of the bass sound that you’re known for and a newer, more pop sound. Congrats on the new album ‘Faceless’. He always tries to find new ways to design sounds and comes up with a lot of melodies. The feedback we received was mixed but overall positive! We’ll definitely keep on producing what we love! We work really well together, we compliment each other perfectly in the studio and out on the road. But we know that nobody could have expected the current situation and so we still feel that we made the best out of it. Being the first artist to release an album on NCS is a real honour for us. We always try to explore different styles and try to find our own way to translate our emotions into music.           This is just the beginning of our journey, there is so much more to come so make sure you stay tuned…

Follow us on socials How has not being able to tour impacted your plans to promote the album over 2020? We’ve never felt like genres are something important for us. We hope the album makes them feel happy and lifts their overall mood!Whenever we discover songs we enjoy, we get an enthusiastic, euphoric feeling that’s really hard to describe. What do you hope listeners will walk away with once they’ve listened to the whole album? We started producing the first songs for this album about 2 years ago without knowing that what we were actually creating at that time would go on to be on our debut album. Of course, there are people who hate changes, but hey… that’s what UB stands for! Even without touring, making the whole album is something that we will never forget in our lives. It’s been super exciting since we started working on it together and it’s always been the perfect mixture of fun and seriousness. Hey Guys! Going on tour with the album would have been a dream for us. Welcome to EDM Nations, thanks for sitting down with us. What’s the story behind the album and the name? That would have definitely helped promoting the album for sure. What’s your favourite track from the album and why? How has it been received by fans? Here’s what happened next…

Hey Unknown Brain! So, for us pop is not a new genre, it’s more of a simplification of our music to make it accessible for a wider audience. What made you stray out of the bass world and into this pop-orientated one? It’s that personal link between the music we make in the studio and the people listening to it.

VINAI and Le Pedre present ‘I Was Made’ !

By EDM Nations – November 30, 2020 2 0

Teaming up with French DJ/producer Le Pedre, renowned for blending electro and rock, the collab nicely honors one of pop music’s most familiar songs. Thanks to the magic between VINAI’s powerful dance sounds and Le Pedre’s cool rock approach, it works wonders here. Already going strong since entering the scene in 2011 with a string of big room festival hits, the duo kept evolving its sound, maintaining a bass heavy and melodic approach while also incorporating more vocals and pop styled arrangements. We believe we made something very cool and we hope you guys will love it as much as we do.”

Le Pedre quote:“Making a cover of a legendary band like Kiss was an amazing experience, bringing rock into the electro world is a challenge for me and one of my goals.”

Follow us on socials VINAI is making moves. VINAI quote: “Working on a legendary song like ‘I was made’ has been a pleasure. After returning to Spinnin’ Records early this year with smash hit ‘Rise Up’, the Italian stallions continued to deliver hot stuff with ‘On N On’ and the Afrojack featured ‘Up All Night’. Then the classic chorus line is unleashed, the beat drops, and the party is well on its way. The original’s backing vocals set the mood here, strengthened by ominous guitar plucks and uprising synths. An instant classic…again! ‘I Was Made’ brings it all together.
