Dennis Sheperd – the first great album of 2021 – Fight The Sunrise !

While the songs’ lyrics delve profoundly into their subject matters, often merely a glance at their titles is enough to draw insight. Dennis though sees the power of voice and – even more critically – lyric as the surest way to express an album’s message. ‘Playing With Fire’ and (its thematic brother) ‘Burning Flame’ Dennis clarifies were inspired by some 2020 conquering of fears (not least his acute vertigo). I hope fans enjoy it every bit as much as I do.“

‘Find The Sunrise’ album is available to order/stream here (https://dennissheperd.complete.me/sunrise) from today. ‘Hamsa’s looping vocal chant, the anthemic floor-roar of ‘South East Love’ and the sax-maxed ‘Omid’ leave their messages deliberately indistinct, allowing listeners to draw their own conclusions. As he channeled his experiences into it, striking a reflective balance between the-then-and-the-now became pivotal to its composition. A fair amount is made in music’s realm of ‘the personal album’. Tonally, it probably telegraphs much that he chose ‘Find The Sunrise’ to frontend the album – the Katty Heath-sung title track a radiantly hopeful beacon to the emotionally at sea. While the album is clear of theme, is also contains tracks whose implications are more opaque and open to interpretation. To achieve that dimension he marshalled an extraordinary assembly of singers, songwriters and collaborators. Over the album’s passage both life’s lifts & dips are explored, always beautifully, regularly with heart-on-sleeve honesty and with an eloquence unmistakably born of intelligent music making. To that end pretty much every one of its fifteen strong tracks features – in one form or another – a vocal aspect. Follow us on socials Katty Heath, Eric Lumiere, Joston, Sarah Russell, Chloe Kay, EKE and Sean Ryan are just some of those that comprise its supremely talented ensemble cast. From isolation, disconnection, separation and forfeiture of relationship, they are ones many will also find familiar.Contrastingly other tracks (‘I Can Feel’, ‘Imagination’ & ‘We Are One’ to name but three) musically reflect Dennis’ current end-of-the-tunnel, brighter-days perspective. By producing it, I have not only processed certain developments in my life but have also used lockdown’s time in the best possible way. On concluding production of ‘Find The Sunrise’, Dennis remarked: “This album will always have a very special place in my heart. By his own acknowledgement, Dennis wrote his third longform predominantly for fans, but also – in part – for himself. I believe this album contains some of the finest music I have ever written! Some artists rely solely on instruments to carry their message, whilst others mix the vocal with the vocal-free. ‘When Our Worlds Collide’, ‘When I’m Alone’, ‘Miss You’, ‘Losing My Mind’ and others address a range of interrelated themes with which Dennis identifies. In truth though all artist albums are inherently personal – the only distinction being to what degree. Starting the year 2019 in what he described as “a very dark place”, he utilised ‘Find The Sunrise’s process as a cathartic tool of articulation, and one with which to face a personal demon or two.

THE BEARDED MAN MAKES GRAND RETURN WITH ‘BEST OF THE BEARDED MAN’ ALBUM AND 2021 EDIT OF NICOLAS HAELG’S ‘GRAVITY’ !

Among those were internationally acclaimed records such as Lost Frequencies’ ‘Are You With Me’ (38x platinum worldwide) and ‘Reality’ (19x platinum worldwide), Dennis Kruissen’s viral Tiktok hit ‘Falling In Love’ and DIMMI & ZEEBA’s gold-certified ‘Found U’, as well as singles from Kav Verhouzer (‘Get What You Came For’) and Harold van Lennep (‘Liberation’) that racked up tens of millions of plays across the most popular streaming platforms. Armed with a batch of new tunes – this includes the 2021 edit of Nicolas Haelg and Marie Beeckman’s ‘Gravity’ that was released today – and a brand-new ‘Best Of’ album that highlights the hits of old, the label rises again to offer dance music lovers a step-by-step guide to making this new year the best one yet. Nicolas Haelg: “Even five years after its original release, I still receive massive feedback on my track ‘Gravity’. Signaling the return of The Bearded Man with his offering, Nicolas Haelg comes up trumps with a fresh version of his 2015 release. Maykel Piron, CEO Armada Music: “The Bearded Man has always been one of our most colorful labels and we’re super excited to see it making its return to the scene. All of these tracks can be found on the ‘The Best Of The Bearded Man’ album that was released today. With added funk feel and more uptempo grooves underlining the soulful vibes and authentic vocals of Marie Beeckman, this 2021 edit of ‘Gravity’ is designed to pulls listeners in big time as it coincides with the revival of the label he released the original song on five years back. We feel that the label’s upbeat vibes and lighthearted attitude are especially welcome in times like these and truly believe that the best way to start off this revival is with a track as infectious and positive as this 2021 edit of Nicolas Haelg and Marie Beeckman’s ‘Gravity’.”

Follow us on socials Hope you guys dig it.”

Running from its launch in 2014 to the start of its one-year hiatus at the end of 2019, The Bearded Man has seen its fair share of global hits and viral tracks in its first five-year period, garnering over 1.5 billion streams through the tracks released on the imprint. I always wanted to go back in time and use a softer one, especially when the track got placed in so many playlists. The world had to miss the majestic chin cushion and refined musical taste of one of its most well-groomed labels for a while, but The Bearded Man is making his hotly anticipated return after a one-year hiatus. It’s one of my most streamed tracks across platforms, and I was always a bit disturbed about the kick not being perfect. So when I heard about the label relaunch of The Bearded Man, which by the way pushed me hard and helped me build a lot of momentum for my song ‘Something Good’ back in 2015, I was more than happy to play my part with a new version of ‘Gravity’.

He received support on previous tracks by renowned artists like Hardwell, Afrojack, Tiësto, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Oliver Heldens, Don Diablo and many more. We were on the same level and produced really quick. For Undercover he teamed up with Slovakian singer and songwriter Madugo. After releasing tracks like ‘All Fired Up’, ‘With Me’ and ‘Can’t Stop Dancing’ on Revealed last year Dastic kicks 2021 off with ‘Undercover’. I can’t wait to show you what else I have in store for 2021!”

Follow us on socials The track was there in no time. I’m very happy with this track and excited to kick off the new year with this. “I loved working with Madugo and Revealed on this track. With releases on Spinnin and Hexagon he is no stranger to the scene. With its uplifting beats and melodic sound ‘undercover’ will get you through these dark winter days and lets you dream about those warm summer days. For the lead sound we actually used my own vocal but completely edited it.
