“This time around, we decided to do something new. ‘Illusion’ and ‘Heaven’, both of which have already been released as standalone tracks on Armin van Buuren’s Armind label, complete the sonic trifecta, adding diversity and character to this unmistakably alluring triple-threat offering. All tracks on the EP are different, but you can hear how our sound has developed into something new and refreshing, as it’s more progressive and melodic. In the past few years, Shapov and NERAK have pocketed their fair share of acclaim, especially when industry icons such as Afrojack, Alesso and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike started playing tracks such as ‘Party People’, ‘Everybody’ and their remix of Afrojack’s ‘Summerthing!’ at the world’s premier festivals. Steeped in their new and distinctly progressive sound, ‘Circles EP’ opens with a dark, mysterious and melodious soundscape titled ‘Vetra’, a track that started out as a mere acapella and got turned into a full-blown track about the Russian soul and emotion in three days’ time. A three-track release that highlights the pair’s new direction and instantly catapults them onto dance music’s upper tier: ‘Circles (EP)’. We’re super excited to be releasing this!”

Follow us on socials All this success simply begged for continuation, and that’s exactly what the Russian go-getters have been working toward in the studio. The result? “We met each other about thirteen years ago and created a bunch of tracks together that did really well in the festival circuit”, Shapov and Nerak say. Releasing the EP on Armin van Buuren’s Armind sound is a definitely a bit surprising, but we feel the sound caters to both the Trance audience and the House/Progressive community really well.

Now, with their second album single Summer continuing to dominate airwaves and tastemaker playlists the world over, WhoMadeWho drop a dynamic, up-tempo Club Mix to accompany the beautifully introspective, tripped-out original production. Follow us on socials Currently in the midst of one of their most rigorous world tours since forming almost twenty years ago, Tomas Høffding, Jeppe Kjellberg and Tomas Barfod are on a three-man mission to shake off the woes of the past eighteen months and make 2021 their most prolific and memorable year to date. Speaking about the Club Mix, WhoMadeWho commented:

“The Summer Club Mix is a special flower for us… Since the original song has a very strong identity, we wanted to maintain that feeling while adding more electronic elements. Following the critically acclaimed release of Mermaids back in May, which came alongside the announcement of a brand new WhoMadeWho album due in 2022, the past few months has seen the eccentric Danish trio tick off an impressive number of career milestones, including a stunning live performance for Cercle at the Abu Simbel World Heritage site in Egypt and a stirring debut outing for BBC Radio 1’s hallowed Essential Mix series, to name but a few. In the end we made it work to everyone’s satisfaction… With a catchy riff, an uplifting beat and sufficient space in the arrangement to let the song breathe. WHOMADEWHO

First broadcast during their recent BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and road-tested to incredible reception at multiple stops on their on-going world tour, WhoMadeWho’s Club Mix of Summer sees the Danish outfit add their inimitable late night twist to the beautifully crafted down-tempo record, as they introduce chugging rhythms and spellbinding, cosmic synths to the dreamy hypnotic soundscapes and ethereal toplines of the original. Normally we let other artists do our remixes, but with this one we had a particular vision and had to give it a shot. We sincerely hope you’ll enjoy it!” – WhoMadeWho

WhoMadeWho – Summer (WhoMadeWho Club Mix) is out now via Embassy One. After a fun week in the studio at the beginning of July, we started testing it out in the clubs while touring. We kept updating the remix after every show until very shortly before the final deadline, to get it just right.

Yves Larock & Steff Da Campo are chatting with EDM Nations about “Rise Up” and future plans !

Yves: I’m doing pretty well and can’t wait to see the reaction to our new version of Rise Up

It’s been a crazy, crazy time. Some countries are re-opening of course and we may see better days quite soon. I just hope everybody feels great when partying to it! Maybe a weird choice, but somehow the lyrics of this song from a big Dutch rock band really fit the emotion of the pandemic: Shit happens, but soldier on! Steff: Happy! Put two incredible producers together and one of the biggest singles in dance music history, and what do you get? Was that the thinking behind the reboot? Not the travelling per se, but meeting people all over the world and the vibe of being in front of a crowd. Yves : it will be Free de VintageCulture and Roland Clark, the title speaks for itself and I love all what this guy produces

Onto much happier subjects – Rise Up 2021! Also I had more time to work on new records, made some great business deals and such, so I’m doing OK. WakuWaku, so we will drop a lot of versions later! If you haven’t yet, what track will you play? Steff: Don’t stress about what you’ve lost, but try to enjoy what you still have

Yves: as I have no better quote than that of Nietzsche “Without music, life would be a mistake.”

Follow us on socials But over the years you learn that it’s not about how hard you fall, but if you are able to get up again and continue to try and reach your goals. But of course it is a great coincidence that while in many countries the scene “rises up again”, we drop this record. That said, it did allow me to focus on things that in the long run, may be more valuable, like my daughter and friends. But what made Yves Larock revisit his work, and what extra magic has Steff Da Campo managed to sprinkle on something that many consider an established masterpiece? everyone has failures in their life, me I love Roman Stoicism, you can’t act against the weather, but work to be a better person and succeed

What advice would you give to anyone who’s feeling down because of what’s happened, who maybe needs a lift or to pull themselves into a more positive headspace? Are there any tricks you’ve used in the past when you’ve faced hard times and needed to ‘rise up’? Yves: I took the opportunity to read, and above all I had to teach my daughter … after this period I have immense respect for all teachers

Has the time at home proved fruitful for your music production output? Steff: Last gig I did was last week in Romania, where Yves joined me to shoot the video. Steff: I am very happy, but like I guess everybody, I have had periods in my career when I almost felt like giving up. We’re such huge fans of the original and we love this new edit. Steff: Working as a designer and DJ

Yves: I was young and handsome hahaha and I started my career as a producer / dj after years of trying

Steff Da Campo

What made you decide now was the right time to release the single? Steff: No, we didn’t plan it to meet the pandemic cycle. Plus, how have they both been coping with the global pandemic and what else do they have to offer? It was a really great party! Or have you found it hard to get creative because of everything that’s happened? No, seriously I don’t remember. How did the collaboration come about? Yves. medicine soothes bodies, but art soothes souls, I hope people will remember it. Have you been able to start playing out yet? How are you both doing? Steff: It started with me making a new version, which was-  and is – a pretty hard hitting club record. I miss touring. Coming when the world needs a boost, something uplifting and positive to bring us out of the current mood, this new version of ‘Rise Up’ seems perfectly timed. Yves: no indeed it was not planned but I think people need a positive title and relive it, hoping that there is not a 4th wave

The message of the single is of course about rising up – is there one thing, in particular, you have had to rise up from yourselves personally? Yves : I had a few dates, but it’s happening slowly, I remember that the first title was Alein, by Eric Prydz, because after all we were no longer alone

Yves Larock

If you had to pick one track that sums up the last 18 months, what would it be and why? How have you both coped with everything that’s been going on? Yves: Always honored that producers like Steff want to produce new versions of my old tracks, and when I heard I loved it

The original track came out in 2007 – what were both of you doing back then? Do you think that people will be able to really connect with the message because of what’s happened? Steff: No, creatively I felt inspired, because I had much more time to experiment and work more closely with writers, singers, producers, I think I managed to learn a lot and I now have a load of releases ready to go! Steff: “Soldier on” by Di-rect. A demo gets refused or you don’t see any booking. EDM Nations was lucky enough to pin both artists down for a chat to find out more…

Hi Yves, Steff, thanks for joining us today. If that happens too often, you feel like giving up. Steff: It was frustrating and still is. I am not even close to what I eventually want to achieve as a musician and as DJ, but I have learnt that I have the willpower to at least keep trying and to have more and more fun while doing it. We were later also joined for remixes and radio versions by first 71Digits and later by Mr. In the hands of Swiss super producer Yves Larock and one of Hollands’ most exciting talents, Steff Da Campo, you get ‘Rise Up 2021’, a thrilling reworking of an already iconic track. My manager sent it to Yves team and Yves loved it, so we started from there and worked on all the other versions together. I just played Rise Up 2021 2021 times! Yves :I took advantage of this surrealist period to produce other styles of music, since the club was closed. Great release coming up and happy to tell you more about it! If you have, what was the first track that you dropped getting back to the dance floor? I really hope we can start partying globally again soon, especially for all these people behind the scenes that lost their jobs.

A-Trak is joining forces with Australian bassmeister Wongo for the release “Groove Society”!

We could go on a big rant about how many clubs and festivals he has played at but that’s boring, how about ya clicky the play button and let the music do the talking. Follow us on socials Not only does this guy run a successful radio show, record label and, sell out his own events called Need2Freak, but Wongo still classifies himself as a producer over all else. Destruction System talks about his musical influences and future plans | EDM NATIONS Interview !

I love giving and working with people’s ideas so we can both can grow as musicians and help each other mutually. My sound now, as previously stated, is a mixture of everything I listen to. I love going outside and just listening to the world industrial sounds. My approach to being an artist is mostly just taking inspiration from whatever I am currently listening to and translate parts of that into my song writing. I would describe my own sound as a mixture of other’s sounds. Destruction System is a rising electronic, synth-pop artist from South Carolina, USA. I don’t stick to one specific genre or sub-genre of electronic music but rather encompass what I’m currently listening to into whatever I feel like making/playing. I seriously started writing and producing music in May of 2020. When did you start writing/producing music? Great question. What path is your music going to follow in the next upcoming months? It is way too easy to just stop and take a break and not work on a song for several weeks. If I enjoy the style of music you make and you have a fantastic work ethic, we are in the same ballpark. 4. 2. What is your number one tip to improve your music production or songwriting skills? How would you describe your sound now? Another great question. 6.     How would you describe your own development as an artist and the transition towards your own sound? I’ve gotten much better with that, but at times, it can still be a struggle. 7. We had a sit down with Destruction System and ask him a few questions, part of our exclusive interview:

Please tell our readers who you are and what you do? Ever since he was a kid, Destruction System has been deeply interested and inspired by the sounds that surrounded him, flourishing a passion for sound design and music production. I could be listening to Tears for Fears or Cannibal Corpse, doesn’t matter… I’ll find a way to make whatever I want work. 5.   Can you describe your approach to art and being an artist? I combine their different aspects and it translates into what you hear. The answer to that is… Everywhere! What are some of the considerations that go into deciding with who do you work or collaborate? Definitely don’t get lazy. Follow us on socials You’ll hear new wave, dark wave, techno, house, industrial, metal even! Destruction System’s music has been influenced over the years by many well-known names such as Ministry, New Order, Depeche Mode, Information Society, Tears for Fears or Revolting Cocks to name a few. My name is Leo Pinelo and I am an electronic music artist who creates style of music based on the genres that I love. Introduce yourself to those who do not know you yet. This variety of influences shaped Destruction System’s signature sound over time, creating a blend of Electronic, Synth-Pop and Industrial sound with dark wave undertones. Speaking about the single EDX commented:

“It’s absolutely fantastic to be back on the road and touring properly after so many months of uncertainty. I’m currently on one of my biggest tours of USA in years and I’m absolutely relishing every moment of being back behind the decks, in front of so many happy, smiling faces. Out today, August 20, via the most club-leaning imprint in his locker – PinkStar Records – Vommuli sees EDX explore a much more euphoric, underground timbre than we’ve become accustomed to, capitalising on his hugely diverse production credentials to deliver one of his most rapturous, club-ready records of late. Vommuli is a record which I created especially for this particular moment – a moment that seemed so far away for so long, but one which was certainly worth the wait.”

Follow us on socials An ode to the reopening of dancefloors around the world, this record symbolises everything fans have been missing since the pandemic put a halt to international touring back in March 2020, as EDX dials up the groove and sets the tone for the rest of the year. A perfectly judged, slow burning melodic house cut with the sort of spine-tingling harmonies up top that really send crowds wild, broad synths and luscious bass add colour and warmth to ensure this one lingers long in the memory. Currently in the midst of his biggest tour of the USA in over two years – a run which sees him take on over a dozen headline shows across the length and breadth of the United States in just under two months – iconic Swiss hit-machine and formidable label head, EDX, now continues his hugely prolific run of studio form with the announcement of his latest sure-fire dancefloor hit Vommuli.

We hit it off and decided to work together in L.A. I feel like ‘Party’s Over’ comes across as a smooth, energy-filled record because that was the environment it was created in, with the three of us just having a very natural relationship that lets ideas flow freely. Brando’s impressive track record just keeps on expanding, especially with his first-ever EP, ‘Slip N Slide’, coming up. With the subject of the song being a former love interest showing up late to the party, this track ties Brando’s unique vocal delivery to a dark production that effortlessly slides from the end of the night into the early-morning afterparty. Today, the American singer-songwriter released the lead single of that EP, ‘Party’s Over’, on Armada Music, a track that will resonate with his fans. Follow us on socials The song even entered the Spotify Top 200 in Australia, Austria, Germany, Sweden and New Zealand, all while clocking up over 53 million streams across the most popular streaming platforms so far. the next time we were all there, which ended up being some months after. Brando

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Brando was a major force behind Canadian duo Loud Luxury’s multi-million-stream, multi-platinum-selling hit song ‘Body’ (850 million streams on Spotify) and Don Diablo’s ‘Congratulations’ (more than 43 million streams on Spotify), the latter of which shot up the U.S. Mediabase Dance Chart through a surge of radio plays. Brando:“‘Party’s Over’ is one of those records that came about in such a natural way that it’s crazy to think about. His 2020 single called ‘Look Into My Eyes’, which reimagines Charles & Eddie’s ‘Would I Lie To You’, spent ten straight weeks atop Australia’s airplay chart, taking the crown for the most-played song of the year from The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’. Avedon and Shndo are both amazing producers – Avedon is credited on works of Chris Brown, Trippie Red and more, and Shndo just recently produced Justin Bieber’s ‘Peaches’ – and I am thankful for our chance meeting in Miami because we all have such a great relationship together both in the studio and out. I originally met Avedon and Shndo, the producers of ‘Party’s Over’, at a songwriting camp for Pitbull in Miami a few years ago. Summoning images of empty bottles, soaked carpets and delicate mental states, Brando’s ‘Party’s Over’ brings to the table something many people can relate to. We met up at Avedon’s studio and this was the first record that came out of our collab.

Cosmic Gate’s ‘MOSAIIK’ Chapter One’ Released // Duo Talk About The Background To Their New LP Project!

He’s known for styles outside of electronic music, but what he came with on ‘Summer Wonder’ gave us ‘Falling Back’-type vibes”.‘MOSAIIK’ manages the deft task of expanding the Cosmic universe, whilst feeling like an as-one entity and a release that’ll chime with the most established of CG fans. Following the release of their ‘20 Years – Forward Ever, Backward Never’ LP in 2019, the GRAMMY nominated duo are again set to challenge the conventional thinking of what Cosmic Gate ‘are’. When Cosmic Gate added ‘Forward Ever Backward Never’ to the title of their ’20 Years’ album, it was (says CG’s Bossi) “as much an undertaking to ourselves, as it was to the audience. Its first Chapter is available now, here ( The singles ‘Your Mind’ and ‘Feel It’ attest to this, and (continues Bossi), “when testing the album tracks at some recent live shows, ‘Vertigo’ – with its dark & techno-ish vibe, got some incredible crowd reactions. For every one of those, there are two or three that speak to other stylistic areas. We saw that being around for 20 years and DJing for even longer, had made the Cosmic Gate sound very, very versatile … Like a mosaic of all these different formed pieces and sounds that make us complete”.“When we laid all of ‘MOSAIIK’s ideas, drafts and demos for new avenues out, it almost overwhelmed us, says Nic. No one told us we needed to do this – it all came from within. That garnered a Best Remix GRAMMY nom in 2020, which further opened the group’s eyes to the level of acceptance in newer production directions. ‘Blame’ – the album’s opening single, which features singer/songwriter Diana Miro, provided perhaps the biggest surprise of the year for Cosmic Gate fans. “This, observes Bossi, has played perfectly into the Cosmic Gate live shows of more recent years, where we’ve started to play longer sets. It feels like the start of a second era. “Mike Schmid, who we worked with on the ‘Start To Feel’ album in 2014 popped back up at the start of the year with something that really surprised us. They fit in as part of a vision which is wider – and is only going to become more so”. That played a part in the decision to split the album into two, he adds. Now all this is not to suggest that ‘MOSAIIK’ doesn’t contain any Cosmic Gate peak time floor-destroyers. One of those “signs” was their remix of Gabriel & Dresden’s ‘Only Road’. This gives us the scope to open with deeper & progressive music, and end with some techno-tracks”, he says. With hindsight though we recognised that there were some signs that our fans were as ready as we were”. The road between ’20 Years’ and ‘MOSAIIK’ is one comprised of purpose, circumstance and pure chance. So ultimately the two Chapters of ‘MOSAIIK’ will click together to present that broader vision of our music”. Follow us on socials It’s here – the first Chapter of Cosmic Gate’s new dual album release drops onto stores and streams today. Deeper and more progressive than CG had gone before, it became their fastest growing single release to hit a million Spotify streams. Thus ‘MOSAIIK’s music making became less symmetric and floor-focused, and all the richer for it. Those who listen – even casually – to CG’s Wake Your Mind Radio show quickly become aware of the broad range of musical tastes that inspire the pair. There was such a span to it that Bossi & I both felt there was almost a danger of ‘too much, too soon’. We were essentially (he chuckles) ‘reaffirming the vows’ under which we formed Cosmic Gate”.“We see “MOSAIIK (The ‘II’-styled title a nod to their eleventh longplayer), as a lot more than a new chapter in our musical lives, expands Nic. “It’s all about proportion though”, says Bossi. From that point a follow up with Diana became a certainty, and ‘Nothing To Hide’ – just released, and featured on the album – is performing in even stronger fashion. When the clubbing world was separated from their dancefloors in March 2020, circumstances provided even more artistic latitude.

Talking about the concept behind the release, Mark commented:

“After lots of studio time, I decided to change my daily routine and begin by walking in the woods. Lots of people have been suffering not being able to breathe, so that’s what inspired this project; the sound of nature and learning to relax. A rich and complex body of work, the stunning eight-tracker goes far beyond Mark’s trademark transcendental crowd pleasers, encompassing lilting moments of euphoric ambience alongside a sundry offering of full-throttle warehouse juggernauts and ravey breakbeat cuts. Mark Reeve – Breathe is out now via Drumcode Records. MARK REEVE

From the ethereal offerings of Ebullience and Silent Whisper through to some trippy mind-expanding excursions into techno’s netherworld via Irregular Choice and Take You Back and the silky laser-kissed Theme, this is a true masterclass from Reeve, who explores a multitude of sonic palates across the extended package. Breathe – the stunning eight-track mini album from long-standing British techno artist Mark Reeve – is out now via Adam Beyer’s iconic Drumcode Records. Following a slew of critically acclaimed single and EP releases on Drumcode over the course of his esteemed decade-long career – the last of which came in the form of his mammoth Distance EP back in February 2020 – Breathe marks Mark Reeve’s most extensive musical opus on the legendary Stockholm-based imprint, and goes a long way in showcasing the inexhaustible creativity of one of the most prolific and original artists in techno today. A career-defining moment for Reeve, Breathe has extraordinary allure and maintains the impressive quality of engaging the listener from the very start. The title track, however, will be the jewel in the crown for many; heavy on atmosphere and low-end punch, it highlights an inspiring return to Drumcode’s fold from the Frankfurt-based artist, and an emphatic stake in the ground from the ever-industrious Reeve. Learning to breathe properly has helped a lot.” – Mark Reeve. Follow us on socials Being in nature and soaking up all the sounds of the forest was simply incredible and very inspiring.

Genix presents powerful double A-side on Anjunabeats!

As a young DJ I spent every single penny I had on vinyl. I don’t try to be any one genre, some people think I produce less trance sometimes, but if you have followed my career from the start it’s always had tech influences. Those were really magical times and they’ve shaped my sound as it is today.”

The LP is a departure from the sound Genix is best known for. Those sounds will always be a part of my love for dance music. A love letter to rave culture ‘199X’ is the debut artist album from Anjunabeats stalwart Damion ‘Damo’ Houchen, also known as Genix.

Raised on The Chemical Brothers, Leftfield and Chicane, Damo has anchored his life to ever-evolving sounds of dance music. I would often get on the bus to different places to go record hunting. In both previous singles, Genix displayed some more subtle vocal-led productions on the Anjuna veteran’s long anticipated album. Genix arrived on Anjunabeats in 2010 and immediately became a mainstay in Above & Beyond sets with tracks like ‘Aura’, ‘Destinations’ and ‘Black Water’ (with regular touring partner Sunny Lax). My mum used to listen to the likes of Nightcrawlers, Leftfield, The Prodigy and more on our holidays. I think they’re timeless and you can hear a lot of their influences in my productions today. “I started to fall in love with dance music during the 90s as a young teenager. Based in the U.K., he became a resident DJ and promoter for The Emporium nightclub in Coalville, a legendary Midlands clubbing destination that hosted parties for John Digweed to Tiesto. Genix reveals a double-A side of two club-minded tracks taken from his upcoming debut album ‘199X’. With ‘Libre / Higher & Higher’ Genix showcases a different side to ‘199X’ and a taste of the tougher led productions which his fanbase have come to expect. Through the late 00’s and 2010’s, Genix was known for his textured, melodic trance production, and caught the ear of Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk, securing releases on both Armada and Vandit. I think any producer should stick to the sounds they love, if it makes me jump out of my seat when I’m making it, then that’s all that really matters”

Follow us on socials From those origins, Genix has blossomed into a mainstay in the trance scene. As his stature grew, so did his approach to his music:

“There have been so many influences [on my sound]; DJs, producers, events and the thousands of records I’ve bought over the years.

They conclude their ‘Search’ with much music from their own Euphonic label associates, inc. From there – through some of own remix work, the Englishman reaches to the horizon, as York’s ‘The Beach’ and Solarstone’s ‘When I Dream’ cast the tranciest of thralls.Says Kryder of his ISOS assignment: “it’s a real honour to be part of such an iconic album series. Among them you’ll find sonics from heavy-hitters like Above & Beyond, Solarstone, BT and Andy Moor, classic names like York, Darren Tate, Johan Gielen and Mesh, as well as newer entities – Tinlicker and Dosem among them. Cruising into its second half, Kryder brings in some meta gold through MEDUZA’s reimagining of Lifelike/Kris Menace classic ‘Discopolis 2.0’ and Tinlicker x Robert Miles’ ‘Children’. Across nineteen tracks they essay an as-classic-as-they-come interpretation of ‘Sunrise’s themes, commencing with the epic overtures of Cressida’s ‘World’s Lullaby’. ‘In Search of Sunrise 17’ is the culmination of a year’s careful preparation & composition and is an expression of my love for the art of trance music”.At his mix’s outset are new M.S. One shoe-in, naturally, is Markus Schulz, here helming his fourth mixpedition, and again bringing it – both from his own and others hands, a cornucopia of new material. Of late, Kryder’s been laying down some of his trance-proggiest in years, making the timing of his ‘ISOS’ call-up, to-the-minute perfect. ‘Silhouettes’ by Francesco Sambero, ‘Flyaa’ from Hello Machines and Gate 44’s ‘Journey’ start to lighten the sky, before K&A’s 2021 revision of their own legendary ‘Outside’ fully heralds the dawn. Dosem’s ‘Eternal and ‘Amongst The Gods’ from Dusky conjure images of those final pre-sunrise minutes, before Ben Böhmer’s reworking of Jan Blomqvist’s ‘The Space In Between’ sees the prog-trance rays emerge.

Mike Candys talks about the success of “Vibe” and his future plans | EDM NATIONS Interview

Unfortunately all of my shows have been cancelled (again), so probably I’m not gonna tour anymore this year. Hi, I’m fine, despite the bad weather in Switzerland. My label told me, that they have a slot for a new Mike Candys release but I didn’t have my planned track ready at the moment. Since there’s no live events for me at the moment, I focus on producing a lot of new music. Do you have any plans to tour this year? All things considered, it’s been a hugely productive year in the studio for Mike Candys. Can you describe your approach to art and being an artist? I started producing and remixing electronic music in the late 80s with a drummachine, a Tape-Recorder and a simple FM-synthesizer. 2012 my Song “if the World” hit number 1 in Germany, that was definitely one of my most crazy moments so far. Destined for further heavy rotation across international festival stages, radio airwaves and tastemaker playlists over the Summer, piercing synths, bouncing beats and avant-garde production values provide the perfect antidote to the last twelve months as Mike Candys delivers another sure-fire hit on the long-standing, Zürich-based record label. Having topped the Beatport Main Stage Hype Charts within days of its release, the record has since been featured in some of the biggest Spotify editorial playlists including Mint, Main Stage, Beast Mode Dance, Dance Party, Hot New Dance and Bangers, to name a few. That doesn’t mean that other people are gonna see this as art automatically. Since then I simply kept going on an on, new technology, new styles. I think it’s impossible to become an artist intentionally. I’m sitting in my studio in Zurich, Switzerland

What’s been your highlight of 2021 so far? When did you start producing  – and what or who were your early passions and influences? My first passions and influences when it comes to electronic dance music were definitely Acid House and Italo Disco. 2009 my remake of Insomnia entered the official single charts in France. Whatever it might be, an artist sooner or later has to express himself by creating something. I started when I was 14. Commodore64 & SoundExpander, that was my setup. Follow us on socials So I sat down and tried my best to create a pure energetic club track in a matter of few days. Hi Mike, how are you today? Art has to somehow call you. Finally, what comes next for Mike Candys? Can you tell us about yourself and how you got into electronic music? There was no reaction but “Ok, we’re gonna release it.” Few weeks later all of us knew that it’s probably gonna be my most successful track of 2021. Tell us about your single ‘Vibe’ on S2 Records

The track “Vibe” was kind of an experiment. But art is simply the urge of being creative and to create things. Following the internationally celebrated release of his three huge original singles already this year (All My Friends, Darkness and Wellerman) the enigmatic platinum-selling Swiss artist now continues his hugely prolific run of 2021 form, as he announces the release of his latest juggernaut cut, and one of the undisputed records of the summer – Vibe. Where are you answering this interview from? And the success of my recent single “Vibe” which came pretty unexpected. I deeply hope I will be back on stages around the world in 2022. Suddenly everything felt right and I sent the track to the label. But overall it’s still the same fascination, to find the perfect combination between melodies, sounds and grooves to make clubs shake and people dance. What do you personally consider to be the incisive moments in your artistic career? My first live show since 1 year of a break in Papaya Club Croatia, which is one of my all time favourite clubs on the planet. This was unreal. Out now via the inimitable S2 Records, Vibe sees the masked producer on the form of his decade-long career, as he delivers a peak-time main stage anthem brimming with pumping, hi-octane energy across its duration.
