Over the course of the following week, I couldn’t get the melody out of my head…it would not leave me alone. Speaking about the remix and his return to Manta, Latroit commented:

“I listened to the original version only once, and I liked it so much that I wasn’t sure that I’d have anything to add to it. Returning to Manta following his impressive label debut Confess back in 2020, the prized LA-based artist steps up to the plate with a pulsating and energetic disco-tinged interpretation, drawing on his remarkable studio experience to conclude the emphatic two-part package in style. It’s been a tough year or so for everyone and we’ve had plenty of time for reflection, the track is about capturing that feeling. Speaking about the upcoming release, label head Idoru commented:

“We are truly excited about this next phase for Manta, we are really trying to step it up a notch. Boasting a impressive stream of dynamic, forward-thinking records from label partners Idoru and Sian (amongst others) since its inception back in 2019, burgeoning Indie Dance imprint Manta Recordings now looks to continue its prolific run of first-rate label output with the announcement of its latest EP release, this time from hotly-tipped British Synthwave duo, Maximum Love. “We wanted to make something that you could get totally lost in…” said the brothers, “something that was dreamy and ethereal but hit hard enough to keep coming back to. When I listened to the original again a week later, I realized that the way I’d been singing it to myself throughout the week was not at all how the song actually went and thought ‘right… I guess I’ll just do this, then…’ This was a real joy to work on and I hope that people have as much fun listening to it as I had making it.” – Latroit

Maximum Love – Sometimes (including Remix from Latroit) is out now via Manta Recordings. We’re really honoured to be able to work with Manta and Latroit on this project, and we can’t wait for everybody to hear it” – Maximum Love

Over 25 million streams to the good since emerging onto the scene with their critically acclaimed debut EP Midnight Astronaut back in 2014, brothers Jordi and Taylor now pull out all the stops with this latest retro cut, combining classic 80s influences and evocative, melancholic vocal lines with their unmistakably hazy retrospective soundscapes to masterful effect. With a massive release from one of our favorite artists, Maximum Love, and a remix from Grammy-award winning artist, Latroit, I couldn’t be more stoked and honoured to be heading up the label” – Idoru

Solarstone & Stoneface & Terminal presents Pure Trance Vol. 9 !

By Alex Cristian – October 30, 2021 101 0

Matthi & Henri put their heart & soul into making it a true heads-down, club-focused journey, and in that, I thank them most sincerely. ‘V9’ sees Solarstone joined by Stoneface & Terminal for another year-crowning celebration of the very purest of the ‘Pure’. I love giving upcoming artists a platform (and occasionally ‘a first break’) for their work on these comps. This mix is a reflection of who we are and what we like when it comes to melodic & driving music. Feeding into the genre’s future, the discovery and elevation of new talents (of which the ninth volume features many) remains central. By the same token though, if there was a 365 for it to return (and with a vengeance, we might add)… well you can probably see where we’re going with this! Whilst searching for the music, I came across some amazing talent, which is something more rewarding than words can convey.“

See also  ‘BACK FOR MORE’: STONEFACE & TERMINAL’S GUNDAMEA SERVE THEIR NEXT FOR EDCT !At the outset of their disc, Stoneface & Terminal also get to scratch a big remix itch. The German duo round out their mix with ‘Lateott’, the latest from Lost Witness and SF&T’s own new creation for ‘Pure Trance 9’, ‘Frontlines’. Over the last decade, the albums’ make-up has crystallised around several core paradigms. It did give Stoneface & Terminal and myself the luxury of more time to source brilliant material and work on exclusive remixes and edits though. In a rework that may yet prove to be his finest, through studio mastery he manages to add yet greater emotional weight to ‘Love U More’s song. Through Foxhill’s balm-some ‘Beach’ and Misja Helsloot’s  ‘Bashed’ (via his new Hel:sløwed alias), Rich’s introductory minutes bring the album cruise appeal. After making a plan, reaching out to some of our favourite acts and producing some exclusive original tracks, remixes and collaborations, we are very happy with the result! As does Richard’s mission to return some much-missed names to its fore, ensuring that the classic feel of genre is baked in. 9 was a great joy to work on. Further, both Richard and Stoneface & Terminal (Henri Nix & Matthi Gierth) have taken the opportunity to (exclusively for the album) remix some tracks from the genre’s dawn. With double the prep-time to hand, it’s allowed Rich to inject even more of that Solar essence into his mix.Adding the most personal of touches, ‘V9’ is the first in the series where every track featured has either been co-produced, engineered, remixed or Retouched by the man himself. Follow us on socials So it is then that – on the cusp of hitting double-digits – the mix-comp series spawned by Solarstone (Richard Mowatt)’s grassroots movement returns in 2021. One of his “all-time top 5 tracks” meanwhile, Sunscreem’s ‘Love U More’ has been on his remix wish list for over twenty years. If ever there was a moment for Pure Trance to take a year off, it has to have been the least dancefloor-friendly one of the last century. A reinterpretation of the Bulgarian folk song that featured on The Golden Record, sent on the 1977 Voyager space missions), ‘Delyo’s Voyage’ delivers an (inter!) stellar end to the mix. Push, Lost Witness, Basil O’Glue, Robert NIckson & Lostly (V6 & V7’s co-mixers incidentally),to Lustral, Cosmic Baby,Sunscreem and beyond, that arch defender of the Pure returns, November 12 ( The album is a mix of wonderful music from both established producers and exciting new names. Under their Gundamea guise, they dazzlingly rework Cosmic Baby’s proto-trance classic ‘Loops Of Infinity’, initially setting the mix-tone trench-deep. Make it happen here: (! The pandemic forced me to postpone it in 2020, as we were unable to bring it that essential live experience element. We think it’s a great complement to Solarstone’s mix.“

‘Solarstone Presents Pure Trance V9’, mixed by Solarstone & Stoneface & Terminal is out November 12. Featuring music from everyone from M.I.K.E. At the culmination of his mix – through Robert Nickson’s latest, Solarstone goes all-in on the galactic. Talking about ‘V9’ and its deferred release, Richard says: “Pure Trance Vol. See also  Kid Eternal presents his infectious new single ‘Love Goes Down’ !If you’re seeing even more of Solarstone’s own on his latest Pure Trance testament, it’s not hard to imagine why. Through successive tracks including Basil O’Glue’s ’San Giljan’ and Pico Boulevard’s ‘Another Time’, its vibe holds at the spaceier end of the spectrum. Speaking ahead of its release, Matthi & Henri said: “When Rich invited us to mix the second disc of ‘Pure Trance V9’, we felt honoured, yet uncertain if we could completely deliver. Push & Trintro’s Endless Balance’ on however, its cooler feel thaws, and indeed takes on a propellant quality. Killer collabs with Robert Nickson on ‘From The Sun’ and Solarstone with (the Irish folk song-based) ‘Mist on the Mountain’ continue to raise its trajectory. It also affords Rich the opportunity to – where innate – introduce and trancify some music from outside electronic music’s sphere. The good news keeps getting better too, as (in a manner of speaking) Rich brings you two ‘Stones’ for your hard earned. From Paul Denton’s ‘Ricochet’ and M.I.K.E. Holding its own memorable moment for Solarstone this summer (having opened his first post-lockdown set with it), Akkima’s ‘Moments’ follows.

We caught up with AmPm to find out more about their latest release and future plans | EDM NATIONS Interview

Japanese masks usually carry a meaning, like Kitsune which is a fox. See also  Yves Larock & Steff Da Campo are chatting with EDM Nations about “Rise Up” and future plans !There’s a very rich history of mask-wearing in Japanese culture and tradition. Since there are many pop cultures, such as games and anime, etc., that originated in Japan, we think Japanese music will spread along with these pop cultures. “What would happen if we played our music, hiding our identities?” As a result, our songs have been heard by people all over the world, and we were able to get signed by a label in the Netherlands. Follow us on socials See also  Margoet Smith & Sölus-Sun Release Make Sure You Are Ready For “The Weekend”! We couldn’t move freely around the world under the circumstances of Covid-19, and this allowed us to reflect on ourselves. ‘Amsterdam’ was released to celebrate ADE 2021 – did you manage to make it over to Europe for the conference? Meanwhile, in Japan, where we live, there are many events of different pop culture such as games and anime, etc., which are closely related to music, so we sometimes get inspiration from these. Regardless of the song, but even of Amsterdam, I think people have their own impressions. The Asian electronic music industry has come such a long way over the last five to ten years. He combines elements of dance music with HIP-HOP and rock, etc., and his songs are unique but, at the same time, catchy and very easy to listen to, which we believe is fascinating. We just wore masks. Along with this process, “how many different elements can we fill in the minimum?” This idea was important in expressing Amsterdam, and I think we successfully expressed this in this song. ‘Tokyo’, ‘New York City’ and ‘Jakarta’ have all whipped fans of the pair into a frenzy and the latest to come, the ADE-tribute single ‘Amsterdam’, looks set to incite the same kind of excitement. Intentionally, it’s not made to have any meaning. We hope that people who don’t know us yet can listen to our songs, just like how you’re listening to us in this interview. As a result, this was also the reason why we decided to create works inspired by cities. All the various cultures of Japan are expressed through the music by Hasegawa. One reason is that we have been active as DJs under different names. We are hoping that this situation will get better so that we can go to Amsterdam next year. Unfortunately, there isn’t a Japanese version of ADE. See also  GPX Racing 24 hours of Spa 2021 anthem in collaboration with Techno producer Mirage de Son featuring Tiffany ShareeThis is a difficult question, but we think it’s difficult for music alone to spread worldwide. A big part of why we came together to form a duo was the experience we gained through traveling in various cities. What has it felt like being at the heart of the growth, and how well do you think other countries receive its music and its artists? We spent most of our time blocking out various things and reflecting on ourselves, how we felt about our experience in Amsterdam, and in what ways to express them. They’ve remixed the likes of Afrojack, R3HAB and Nicky Romero, and dropped major dance floor bombs, not least in the shape of their city-inspired series. Since then they’ve gone on to play everywhere from the shores of the US to Europe and across their home continent of Asia. We will eat, drink, go clubbing, and eat ramen. We think Hasegawa is a very unique artist in terms of tone and composition, which can’t be found in artists from other countries. In particular, China, Korea, and Indonesia have been greatly influenced by Western culture but have also developed their own unique culture, which holds new possibilities and great potential. Each country in Asia has its own unique culture. Well, contact us when you come to Japan. Above all, the fact of interacting with people who love dance music from all over the world is irreplaceable. EDM Nations caught up with AmPm from their studios in Tokyo to find out more…

Congrats on your new song ‘Amsterdam’! Finally, if we were to travel to Japan for a night out, what bar, club and restaurant would you take us to, and why? Is this why you decided to wear masks for your press shots, or is there another reason? When you approached the single, what kind of production did you use to try and capture the spirit of Amsterdam? When we made our debut, we wore polar bear masks, and now it’s rabbit masks. She released numerous dance music that combined the sensitiveness unique to the Japanese people and her tenderness. KM

In addition to his own activities, he is a producer who also provides music for many rappers in Japan. This is the standard Japanese way to have a night out, so we hope you’ll join us until the ramen part. Rina Sawayama

Although she lives in London, she is an artist that has the power to overturn the prejudices that Japanese and Asians face. Hakushi Hasegawa (長谷川白紙)

The artist has all the elements of Japan’s unique electro music. We believe that he is not bound to a specific genre and creates music that crosses many genres, building a unique worldview that only he can create. Does Japan have its own version of ADE, or is there a similar conference in Asia that is a great showcase of what the territory has to offer from its electronic music scene? Qrion

As a woman DJ and producer, she attracts attention not only from Japan but also from the world. You’re both wearing rabbit masks, is there a traditional meaning behind this, or something more personal for the decision? We’ll show you many homey places that are smaller in size, but not the bars or clubs you’ll see in the media. In that sense, we believe not only specific genres but also various genres of Japanese music will spread throughout the world. Everything she expresses and her music is, of course, unique with enough ability to attract attention. In fact, due to various prejudices, dance music created by Japanese and Asians had very few chances to be listened. We received a lot of good comments from fans in Japan and other regions of Asia. Isn’t it strange? We might wear different animal masks from time to time. There are many reasons why we wear masks. What has the reaction from fans been like? It’s tough to give a superiority, but if we had to pick five artists… the order won’t matter, and they will be:

He is active in a versatile way, not only active in his own activities but also providing music for artists of various genres. Masked Japanese tech-house duo AmPm have been making waves on the international dance scene since their debut 2017 track ‘Best Part of Us’ caught our ears. Apart from Japan, what other Asian country for you has the most exciting electronic music culture, and why? Traveling to Amsterdam at this time of the year is precious for both of us since we can feel all seasons. Based on our experience in clubs in Europe or America, some people didn’t feel good about Asians playing songs in the DJ booth, and we were stopped in the middle many times. Also, there isn’t a conference in Asia dedicated to dance music, but of course, there are various conferences related to music. Nothing has changed. Unfortunately, as there are still many restrictions on travel from Japan, where we are located, to the Netherlands, we couldn’t participate again this year. Who are your top five Japanese artists that we should be getting excited about, and why? Why did you decide to make a series of singles that are inspired by cities? There is no particular meaning to the animals on masks.

At least i did! Follow us on socials For 2 years in the row since we haven’t seen Ultra because of the covid pandemic and oh boy, we really missed it! Back in April of this year, the festival was sued for withholding ticket refunds. The lawsuit filed in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami-Dade County stated:

Ultra engaged in unconscionable, unfair, and/or deceptive trade practices by advertising, offering, and promoting the festival, taking individuals’ money to attend said advertised festival, cancelling the festival, and then failing to provide ticket purchasers with the option of receiving a refund, effectively shifting all risk and costs of Ultra’s decision to cancel the Event to the consumers. The phase 1 lineup was announced this morning, with names like Pendulum, Illenium, Martin Garrix, Alison Wonderland, DJ Snake, Madeon, SVDDEN DEATH presents VOYD, Zeds Dead, and more. Spotify, Amazon and Pandora reportedly proposing lower streaming royalty rates to US Copyright Royalty Board !

By Alex Cristian – October 26, 2021 0 69
The Journal also reports that the National Music Publishers’ Association is pushing for streamers to pay publishers whichever is greater, on a month-by-month basis: 20 per cent of their service’s revenue, 40 per cent of what is paid to record labels and other master recording copyright holders, $1.50 per subscriber, or $0.0015 per stream. Several streaming services have made separate filings to the Copyright Royalty Board’s three-judge panel with proposed royalty rates for the period 2023-2027. See also  ‘IN SEARCH OF SUNRISE’ UNVEILS ITS ALL-STAR 2021 LINE UP!“Not only do [streaming services] propose rolling back rates and terms to erase all gains over the last 15 years, but they actually are proposing a structure worse than at any point in the history of interactive streaming,” NMPA chief executive, David Israelite, told Music Business Worldwide last week. “That should be our focus – preserving long-term industry growth and ensuring that it benefits as many people as possible.”

The rate-setting proceedings at the US Copyright Royalty Board are in progress and more developments are expected this week. “It is disappointing, but not surprising, given how they have treated songwriters over the years, including their continued assault on the rate victory that was achieved in 2018 which they are still appealing four years later.”

The Digital Music Association, which represents the streaming companies, issued a statement about the rate proceedings that emphasised the benefits of “long-term industry growth”, including “billions of dollars invested into catalogs” and “new tools and features that help bring more music to more fans than ever before”. However, those rates are under an Appeals Court remand. Streaming operators Spotify, Amazon, and Pandora are reportedly proposing lower royalty rates for songwriters to the US Copyright Royalty Board (CRB). Last week (October 21), Billboard reported that several streaming services made separate filings to the CRB’s three-judge panel with their proposed royalty rates for the years between 2023 and 2027 – a four-year period known as CRB Phonorecords IV. Spotify is reportedly requesting 10.5 per cent, with Amazon – for its music service Amazon Music – and Pandora applying for 10.54 per cent. “How do we make modern music economics work for everyone?” said DiMA CEO Garrett Levin. These proposed rates are lower that enacted during the Phonorecords III period of 2018-2022, which began at 11.4 per cent in 2018 and escalate annually to 15.1 per cent in 2022. Spotify, Amazon and Pandora have reportedly proposed headline royalty rates for Phonorecords IV of around 10.5 per cent of revenue. Follow us on socials According to Consequence, Apple Music will follow the lead of the judge in the ongoing Phonorecords III appeal, while the Wall Street Journal reports that YouTube says it is not seeking lower rates for Phonorecords IV.

Armin van Buuren: “I had a blast working with Vini Vici on ‘Great Spirit’ and ‘United’ back in 2016 and 2018, and although a few years had passed since, I always felt that it’d be great to do a third collab. In between high-magnitude collabs with the likes of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Steve Aoki, R3HAB and more, the pair became the first ever psytrance act to play the main stages at Tomorrowland and ULTRA Music Festival and to perform at Lollapalooza before adding reputable festivals and events such Electric Daisy Carnival and A State Of Trance to their gig list. In non-COVID times, Armin van Buuren headlined more than 150 shows per year at leading festivals and venues around the world, including Electric Daisy Carnival (Las Vegas, New York), Ultra Music Festival (Miami) and Tomorrowland (Belgium) plus residencies on Ibiza and in Las Vegas. Needless to say, it took a lot of hard work to get this final result.”

Armin van Buuren, who was recently voted in the Top 5 of DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 DJs list for the twentieth consecutive year, has long been a global ambassador for electronic music. A little under a week ago, Vini Vici were voted #20 in DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 DJs poll, their highest position to date. It took us a while to produce this song and we did it during the crux of the pandemic. It has been a few years since the global success of ‘Great Spirit’ (well over a hundred million streams on Spotify) and ‘United’ (over 40 million Spotify streams), but Armin van Buuren and Vini Vici haven’t lost any of the momentum since. Featuring the uplifting vocal chants of Tribal Dance and Natalie Wamba, ‘Yama’ instantly makes its mark as a ground-shaking collision of Armin van Buuren and Vini Vici’s globally renowned signature sounds. Our trademark sounds are especially compatible and I’m positive ‘Yama’ will be ruling dance floors for a long time to come.”

Vini Vici: “Dropping this tune b2b with Armin van Buuren during last week’s ASOT event was an amazing experience, and we’re super excited about our third collaboration! From the uplifting and openhearted intro to the inevitably colossal beat drop, this track is sure to cause some serious dance floor damage with every play.

We chatted with Didi + Ping about his musical influences and his latest release | EDM Nations Interview !

By Alex Cristian – October 26, 2021 122 0

Then I record everything. I like software because it takes up less space, and when I’m mixing and mastering I’m usually turning knobs and moving faders, which is an action that’s not big enough for me to need physical gear. It’s a reference to my brother and I, and the music we’d listen to growing up together. Inspiration usually hits me when I’m off doing something else, like hiking. Maybe he travels out of his own curiosity, or maybe he’s looking for answers to help solve a problem back home. My parents taught it to me at a young age, and so I grew up “speaking” it. I think it’s a universal language worth exploring, and a unique method to communicate ideas, emotions, and stories. When playing, I prefer the physical (gear and instruments). I also hope to start touring soon. What kind of sounds can we find in this release? Mountains. We were intrigued and chatted with Didi + Ping about his musical influences and his latest release:

How did Kristian become Didi + Ping? I picture a nomad crossing an unknown land. And so, most explorers are trailblazers to the rest of us… pathfinders. What’s the story behind the creation of Pathfinder + Solitude? Throughout his whole life, he has been driven by two powerful forces: music and his natural surroundings. I get cabin fever when I spend too much time in the studio, so I try to avoid it as much as I can. You live surrounded by nature in Canada, which are your favorite spots to go and free your mind?       I want to play a massive show at an outdoor music festival, with a live orchestra! I grew up playing instruments, so I can’t give that up. Your music career is professionalizing incredibly quick. I grew up surrounded by nature, and sometimes I feel disconnected from it in today’s world. What can we expect from Didi + Ping in the near future? Do they complement each other? Why are they so important to you? I want to have a direct connection with the music I’m creating, whether that’s finger drumming on my MPC, hitting my drums and bongos, or playing my piano. Music even makes me feel connected to my ancestors. I love them all! Each production is infused with lilting melodies, emotional chords and mesmerizing instruments, giving each of his tracks the perfect portion of his essence as an artist. And finally, I mix and master in my studio. I conceptualize my music first, which is in my head. What do you dream about achieving in the Music Industry? Do you prefer working with physical gear or software? Then I compose the piece on my piano. I created this EP to celebrate exploration in its purest sense! Take me to the top of one and I’m bliss incarnate. Canadian Deep House/Melodic House DJ/Producer Didi+ Ping, named an “Artist You Need To Hear” by DJ Mag, has released his action-packed two track EP Pathfinder + Solitude. Follow us on socials Music is important to me because it’s the language I find the most beautiful. Freedom, because the unknown has no restrictions, and solitude, because most people fear and avoid the unknown. And some exciting videos that share my love of nature. The way I feel when I play the piano or hear a song can’t be replicated with any other artform, and I’m trying to share that feeling.        Violins, horns, choirs, mallets, piano… experimental sounds as well. See also  Destruction System talks about his musical influences and future plans | EDM NATIONS Interview !More music. What do you picture in your mind when you listen to this EP? I’m reconnecting! Absolutely… Music is as much a discovery as it is an invention, as secretive and abstract as nature is. But, when I’m playing music, the physical stuff feeds my soul. The curiosity to explore the outside world brings freedom and solitude. Can you tell us about your creative process?
