There was the unforgettable live-streamed set from the Italian Formula 1 race track Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello as well as a Charlotte de Witte x Tomboy Collaboration featuring bespoke racing t-shirts. It will feature a limited edition version of Charlotte de Witte’s Formula EP on clear red vinyl. Her KNTXT label meanwhile put out new music from Alignment who served up the Nothingness EP and Power EP, Indira Paganotto’s Himalaya EP, and ONYVAA’s Lost Angeles EP. With this contest Spinnin’ Records closes a partnership with UEFA Futsal EURO 2022 as an official national partner.  The winning Goaltune will be played after every goal throughout the tournament. The submission must be between 17 – 20 seconds and consist of a short build-up and a drop that makes both the players and the audience go absolutely wild after a goal. The enthusiasm for the Goaltune contest is sky high, with over 100 submissions in the first few days. The winning submission will be played at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome and Groningen’s MartiniPlaza after every goal, instantly joining the ranks of iconic stadium stompers like Zombie Nation’s “Kernkraft 400.”

From January 19th to February 6th of 2022, the European Futsal Championship will take place in both Amsterdam and Groningen. In addition, Blasterjaxx will also be contributing the kickoff tune for this year’s tournament, to be  played just before the of each match. Belgian regulators have since decided favorably on the request as Tomorrowland has now reportedly received a permit from the province of Antwerp to move forward with their plans for expansion. Following two consecutive pandemic-induced cancellations in 2020 and 2021, Tomorrowland made their eagerness to make up for lost time clear as they immediately sought approval to expand to three weekends during the upcoming 2022 festival season. The edition of a third weekend of the festival will also have some compromises, mostly to keep festival-goers safe but also to be respectful of the residents of Boom, this includes closing Deamville parties earlier and also ditching the use of an overhead helicopter filming crew. We will work in the same way as with two editions… with the necessary variations on the poster.”

Enthused, I worked through the near entirety of ‘Everything We Had to Leave Behind’ track by track, as I felt those tracks had more evolution left in them. “‘Everything We Had to Leave Behind’ started life in freedom and ended during our incarceration”, Chicane says. Always one to welcome inspiration no matter where it comes from, the U.K. I had a new persona in mind for remixes, so I took on the form of Back Pedal Brakes and started tinkering.”

“Tracks or albums are never static for me”, he continues, “so once the lockdown lifted, I realized I was becoming inspired by the current breakbeat culture and wanted to explore that in relation to the recent album. They probably still have, but they tell me I have to stop somewhere. The result is a remix album as tantalizing as the original 14-track offering: ‘Everything We Had To Leave Behind (Back Pedal Brakes Remix)’. I hope you enjoy both the caterpillar and the butterfly.”

“Like everyone, our plans for 2020 kept getting changed. Los Angeles based producers LostKings release their new EP It’s Not You, It’s Me today via Disruptor/RCA Records. About their new track “Broken In All The Right Places” featuring Mod Sun, Lost Kings says, “broken is one of our favorite songs we’ve ever done. We actually reached out via twitter and sent him the idea and instantly he responded with “i can kill this.” So we set up a date and finished the record together. It was definitely a struggle being patient but we couldn’t be happier finally getting to wrap up this EP and put out two of our favorite records we’ve done. Mod Sun and “PS I Love You” as well as their previously released tracks “Me, Myself, and Adderall,” “I Miss The Future,” “Oops I’m Sorry,” “Mountains,” “Runaway” and “Hurt.”

The duo spent the summer of 2021 touring on their I Miss The Future US headlining tour as well as various festivals including Lollapalooza, EDC Las Vegas and more. These ones hold a special part in our heart and so excited for people to finally hear them.”

A: I am collaborating on a few Future Rave tracks as well as producing my own music at the same time creating a Future Rave Construction Kit for a big musical company that I cannot reveal just yet. A: The vocal! Ken Bauer’s musical talents are a gift that evidently comes naturally to the Swedish DJ and Producer, after playing piano from a young age Ken then took an interest in the art of music production and released his debut single just for fun back in 2014. His latest release ‘Just Like You’ is another unmissable hit that shows off his natural talent and skill for music production and is definitely not one to miss out on. When I heard the vocoded hook, I just instantly fell in love with it and knew I had to produce a track around it. Finally, what’s next for Ken Bauer? A: No. Whose input do you trust the most when releasing new music? How has the initial reaction been? Do you have a favourite part of the track? A: Well, with the risk of David Guetta & MORTEN disagreeing with me I would say that it is a blend of underground techno and progressive house. A: My mentor and friend Olly James. What was the inspiration behind ‘Just Like You’? A: Well, nothing more than getting my music out there for as many people as possible. How would you describe the sound of ‘Future Rave’? I was supper happy to see David Guetta start one of his Radio shows with my previous track “The Sirens Are Calling” that is still going very strong. A: I have few tracks lined up for release on both major and smaller but still genre defining labels. A: I am already super happy with the early support but obviously getting a final approval by the founders of Future Rave is always nice. But to be honest it is still early, I am a little bit disappointed to see it haven’t been picked up by any editorials yet, but time will tell. Who would you love to see supporting ‘Just Like You’? Did the release meet your expectations?

Not really. Where can we go to listen and buy ‘Tu Sabe’? I’ve been listening to a lot of reggaeton lately which has given me some new ideas when blending urban Latin with my drum sound. Is there any more music we can look forward to hearing from you? Jacob Colon strikes again with his brand-new release ‘Tu Sabe’, dropping on 06/09/2021 with the imprint that always delivers – ‘Made 2 Move Records’. How would you describe ‘Tu Sabe’ for those who have not heard it yet? Absolutely. Use what inspires you to make a sound instead of copying someone else. 

Where did you record ‘Tu Sabe’? This track has more of a reggaeton vibe. It’s out on all platforms. I have a small circle of friends that I send my promos to before I actually release them. In my home studio. These guys are big time producers, so their opinion is great to have. Tell us the story behind ‘Tu Sabe’? Where did you gain inspiration from for this track? Once I had the vocal structured correctly, the rest of the song came easily. How would you compare this track to some of your other releases? It’s a cool blend of dembow, reggaeton and afro house. It was just about placing the right pieces together. Keep it original. I also have a big announcement on where I’ll be playing next. Armed with a discography of club-ready anthems already behind him like ‘Don’t Stop’, ‘Desert Storm’, and his latest release ‘Eyes So Low’, it is clear to see that Jacob has been crushing 2021 this far. Jacob Colon is without doubt becoming one of the most reliable and consistent Producers in his format with the release production line showing no sign of slowing down any time soon. You can expect to be treated to that Latin inspired groove and undeniable House funk that many of his fans have fallen in love with.
